Con woman. Said the same thing to other staff and charged differently
For city centre post office dose not even have a post box. Went in to post letter had 2 wait almost 10min to just hand over all realdy stamped letter.
In fairness I didnt have much of an experience here at all... Useful information to have is that even though this Post Office is open until 17:30 on Saturdays (which did sound too good to be true), you can only collect parcels until 14:00. Ive not found this information anywhere useful aside from being told this when I went in.
I checked the reviews before I went and thought everyone was just being moany, but oh how I was wrong. I arrived there at 17:20.The lovely lady on the WHSmith tills asked if she could help and I said I just wanted my coupon put on my electric key and she politely and helpfully points me to the back of the shop where the post office lurks. The queue was short, presumably because everyone else has given up using this post office. There is only one young lady serving on the post office desks. There is one person being helped, and one man in front of me in the queue. After lots of sighing the lady helped the first customer and they went on their way. Next up was the man. Presumably he had something 'difficult' as the lady shouted over to me, "what do you want?" I said I just wanted my duel fuel coupon put on my electric key, the only option on the letter was the post office. She handed the man in front a form and made him go full it in elsewhere, stating with a sigh that they close in 5 minutes. She calls me over and I fumble about trying to find my ID that she requested, feeling very rushed I can't find my driving licence and have to empty my bag out to find my passport. During this drastic search, I ask what time they close and she states 17:30. (I find this odd as I'm almost 100% sure the sign outside says that they're open as long as WHSmith is, which is 18:00...) I ask if it's always 17:30 and she assures me it is.I hand over my ID and she pops out to top up my key. I can hear her chatting to a colleague through the door about holidays. Apparently all sense of urgency at them closing disappeared as she walked through the door, as when she comes back she's suddenly chirpy and hands me back my key with a "there you go dear". I'm only 31 and wondered if I'd suddenly doubled in age but as I leave I check in the window reflection to find that nope, I've not yet got a blue rinse. While at the window I thought I'd see if they have a temporary sign up saying they're currently closing early but nope again, it clearly states they close at 18:00. I was hoping to start posting things here after work but I think I'll wait for politer staff, proper opening hours, and a small miracle.
This is one of the worst post offices I've visited. This was built to replace the old one which wasn't that great to start off with. Why are there no self service postage or normal machines? Why is there always not enough staff and why is there always at least 20 people in the queue when I visit. If you can avoid this store. Please do
