The Albert Street Co-op is excellent - my partner and myself have been living in Stobswell for the better part of a decade and Co-Op has been our go-to place to shop for groceries. It's small but has most of what you would ever really need so you aren't forced to travel out to Asda or one of the Tesco Extras - both of which are very impractical to those of us who can't drive and would therefore be required to take the Weekly Shop on the bus. The staff are very nice and friendly, the shop's hours of operation are very convenient and the stock is reasonably priced.
For a local shop. It's a crucial part of the neighbourhood offering most things that supermarkets do tobacco, lottery.. Wide range of booze, coffees soft drinks etc & nowhere near as expensive as. You might think with their weekly offers better prices than for example ASDA and others
It's a large co-op as good as it gets for them. Downfall is the bank machine isn't working most times.
Good deals and produce, I like the membership rewards. Staff are always friendly, nice and very helpful.
Massive choice of products but not enough room to put through the checkout. Whilst empty trolley aisles are completely unmanned. The reduced aisle seems to somehow make the products more expensive than they were when fresh!! Walking In to the Gestapo at the door makes for a very unfriendly entrance ..good job the staff behind tiny till area are super friendly and helpful !!..good job Lidl is across the road
