Nice little bar. Pleasant and helpful staff. Perfect for a quick pint after a long cycle or run.
The Ship Inn is a popular place, it was full for lunch. The service is good, friendly and speedy. It is a well selected menu and not over priced. The food is good, well presented and tasty. My only concern is the size of the dishes, for me the helpings are too generous. Well worth a visit.
We were a group of 5 booked in on a Saturday night and it was very busy. Despite that, the food was absolutely fantastic. The lamb shank, the turkey (from the Christmas menu) and Thai Green Curry that we had were excellent. Nothing to complain about food wise. The staff did their best to serve a busy restaurant. It was The Ships misfortune that we would have ordered at least another 2 rounds of drink (20 a round) if there were more staff on as we only were served with our first initial round of drinks on arrival as staff were too busy seeing to it that all tables had their food.
Lovely ,cosy , intimate. Great food and a friendly service. Fish was cooked beautifully and batter was crisp and light. Definitely recommend eating here. Everyone at table thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Great prices won't break the bank.
A good Sunday meal with the family.We dropped by on Sunday for a family meal to get out of the busyness of Dundee and were very happy with the food experience at the Ship Inn.Its a first floor restaurant, and you enter via a small lobby door with stairs up. Unfortunately the entrance is right at the bar, and the bar smells greet you immediately and that is not wonderful.The food was great, even better than that, but the place could do with a deep clean. The tables were sticky, and so were the majority of the surfaces.Staff were excellent and attentive, and the quality of the food really great, but a real clean and tidy would do wonders to improve the overall experience.
